Buffalo Built

How It Works

One process, from first idea to final walkthrough.

Every Buffalo Built project — model home, custom build, remodel, or commercial — moves through the same five phases, with one team accountable for all of them. Here's what actually happens.

Active framing phase of a residential design build custom home project by Buffalo Built LLC.
  1. Phase 01

    Define

Every good build starts with clarity, not drawings. We sit down with you — and walk the site where possible — to pin down what you're building, why, and what it needs to cost.

    • Goals, priorities, and scope in plain terms
    • A realistic budget range before design begins
    • Site and structural realities on the table early
  2. Phase 02

    Design

The plan takes shape with our design team — and you see it before anyone builds it. 3D visualization lets you walk layouts, test finishes, and make decisions while changes are still cheap.

    • Layouts and elevations developed around your goals
    • 3D walkthroughs before construction begins
    • Selections and budget aligned as the design firms up
  3. Phase 03

    Prepare

The unglamorous phase that saves projects: engineering, permits, scheduling, and materials — all coordinated before ground breaks, so the build phase runs clean.

    • Permits, approvals, and inspections managed for you
    • Engineering coordinated for snow loads and wind
    • Construction schedule and sequencing locked in
  4. Phase 04

    Build

One crew, active oversight, and consistent quality control. Because the people who planned the project are the ones building it, decisions on site get made fast and right.

    • Consistent oversight from lead to crew
    • Quality control at every phase, not just the end
    • Clear communication as the work progresses
  5. Phase 05

    Deliver

A final walkthrough together, every detail verified, and a building meant to perform long after we've left. That's the standard the company is named for.

    • Detailed final walkthrough and punch list
    • Every system verified before handoff
    • A structure built for decades, not the photo shoot

True in Every Phase

What never changes.

The phases move, the constants don't. This is what design-build under one roof buys you.

  • One accountable team — no handoffs between designer, engineer, and builder

  • A clear scope and realistic timeline, stated up front

  • Budget alignment from the first phase, not a surprise at the end

  • Transparent updates — you always know where your project stands

Phase one is a conversation.

No commitment, no drawings yet — just your goals, your site, and an honest read on scope and budget.
